Hoyt did you have to go through all the 'importing rifles and handguns' process on the website or just put in a simple request to PR - I would sure like one in matte black, 308.

No, you can order direct... PR will bring them in on their licence. Through my LGS, the guns are ordered from a Canadian distributor who does the importing, as with any other firearm.

I would love to see these in 30-30

"Mr. Imperato,

I own several of your fine rifles and have made presents of others to my children. I was happy to see the expansion of your firearm line-up to include the break action single shot rifles, I have a brass .44 Mag & .45/70 on order with my local gunstore. I thought I would mention an item you might consider offering. I collected and customized H&R Handi Rifles for 30 years, and one of the biggest sellers were the ones chambered for .30/30 Win... these still command a premium on the used market. The reason is, this cartridge is extremely popluar and inexpensive to shoot, but is limited in a lever action rifle... many shooters would like to load it up with spire point bullets such as the Hornady SST and Nosler Ballistic Tip with powders like LVR for maximum performance. I know I for one would place and order immediately if you were to offer the brass single shot rifle in .30/30. Just a thought for your consideration."

Here is his response;

Anthony Imperato to you: January 18,

"Sir, thank you very very much for owning several Henrys, your kind words, cartridge suggestion and continued interest in our line. We will be expanding the single shot offerings. Sign up for our free catalog and opt in for our occasional emails and we will keep you posted on all new models and calibers.

Sincerely, Anthony"

I had two CVA break action rifles in .35 Rem and .35 Whelen... they were decent rifles... but I was into making H&R swap barrel sets at the time and sold them off... I am expecting these Henry rifles to be significantly more refined... time will tell.

Just received the 2017 Henry catologue. These really look like a nice rifle. Front sight set up seems a bit garish but I can live wth it. Definitely want to pick one up. they have tome tacky looking rifles in their lever line up ( like they took some styling tips from the ugly winny commemoratives) but the wildlife edition .30/30 and .45/70 are kind of attractive.

I have the plain brass .45/70 lever action on order, it was $350 more for the engraving... so they can keep that part of it. I am told June or July shipment for the single shot .44 Mag and .45/70... I already have the Weaver 82 bases and low Leupold gloss rings for a pair of Vari-X II 2-7X28 gloss Duplex scopes, awaiting their arrival... I decided that these lighter and sleeker scopes would be a better fit than the 2.5-8X36. At the moment I have the bullet molds warming in the garage and a pot of lead brewing... will be all set to chuck chunks of lead... good summer fun.
