New High Calibre Rifle?

Does anyone have the Military Channel on satellite? There is a new high calibre specifically designed for sniper rifles , for shots greater than a mile and a half.

This is the .408, which is designed to be better than the 50 BMG....The .408 has more kinetic energy, less bullet drop, a third less of the weight of the 50BMG, lighter recoil and more predictable flight path.

The new M200 is a rifle designed specially for this calibre.

the 408 is the cheytac, there has been some discussion of it on the forum in the past, problem apears to be getting components is scarce.

Rifles, barrels, ammunition and components do not get approved for export out of the US...

If memory serves me correct, I think the movie "Shooter" had a 408 Cheytac that was built by CGN's very own Longshot.

Yep. It seems "the military channel" shows more interest in it than "the military". There were some marketing difficulties, if I recall correctly, which lead to the rifle, ballistics computer and misc. paraphenalia being offered as a package "sniper system". Go figure.
