I've done some of the Google thing and the remarks are 2 sided. Some say you should resize and others say there's no need. What do you guys say. .308 Hornady brass.

I always do regardless of where it came from. I've had brand new brass that had a bunch that were tight chambering. Others have had brand new brass that would not chamber. It's up to you but I don't risk it anymore, its just a whole lot more f'in around after you bring loaded ammo back from the range to pull and resize.

I run every case through a neck die to remove any dents in the case mouths, and to set the neck tension that I prefer. I also chamber the case mouths.

I always do to make sure the necks are properly round, my same usual process with lube and so on.

I didn't resize and it bit me in the butt on a precision match. I had 3 out of 300 FTF with my SSG3000. It's a tight chamber but 3 wouldn't load. I resize now.

I bought some Hornady .308 brass last year. I tried a couple pieces (unloaded of course!!!) and they chambered fine, so I just neck sized them. I would think that you should absolutely size the neck before seating a bullet. To just neck size you need to use a neck-sizing die. It doesn't touch the body, just resizes the neck. Normally you can get away with a few neck sizings before the body grows and you need to bump it back to let the rounds chamber. YMMV

No you don't, you can easily neck size with a FL die set. I do it frequently.. FS

I have over 700 hornady 308 brass I use. I only neck sized new pieces using a lee collett neck die. Since then I now run forster dies. Never had an issue in my savage. I am on my 6th firing with them and am just now needing to trim to length and have only ever neck sized. I am happy with this brass for my use.

Why must you guys always full stroke everything?
Just Bump em! You're just getting the necks back to being round.

Insert case in shell holder
Raise the ram, feel the case neck engage the neck portion of the die.
Reverse the stroke
Done!

No pizz willying with your die setting.
No muss.
No fuss.
The cases already are SAAMI spec or smaller, full stroking is not needed.

that sounds easy enough. But what about when it's once fired out of my rifle. ( that's what I was getting at with , by unscrewing the die a turn and a half).
