Using no lube, I would think cleaning between shots would be needed. It is just a modern slant on the old Mini bullet, and might be allright, but I will stick to round balls.

Between my wife and I we've killed over 60 animals with the SST. What is this exploding on impact you talk about?

Well, with the experience I've had with them, they lost their core about 98% pf the time, Yes they did kill the deer I shot, but they also accounted for a couple lost deer. I've recovered almost all the SST's and was only left with a copper cup. I prefer something that would atleast give me a pass thru shot.
It seems to me that the SSt would fragment on contact...that's just my experience with them, maybe I got a bad Lot#??

Bull moose shoulder at 210 yards. 250 SST out of my Encore. Everytime I do my job the SST has done its job for me.

Did I say that? No, I said if I (that would be me) do my job the SST does its job, everytime. That moose shoulder blade shows it doesn't it? And that is a much larger bone than you are EVER going to find on any deer.
