"NEW" Hornady Interlocks

I remember hearing (last year?)that hornady changed the construction of the "new" interlock and it was not as good of quality as in the past. What ever came of that? Was it just a bad batch of bullets, or did hornady screw up the IL?
 
We talked about it here for a bit, but I don't think we have a firm conclusion. I've been using the Interlocks for a while and like them. I haven't had a problem yet, but I haven't killed anything this season and I haven't kept track of which ammo I've built with older stock or newer bullets.
 
OK thanks guys. I used the 165 BTSP in my 30-06 for deer for 10 years and it worked great. I've been tossing around whether or not to use them for a new load in my 308. I was hoping the issue was cleared up...
 
Loaded some 150gr .308s in a .30-06. W760.

They killed a buck deader than dead, where he stood. Bullet was lodged in his shoulder. Mushroomed like it was supposed to.

Top bullet is a 286gr 9.3 core seperation on at moose shoulder blade at just under 200 yards 9.3x62 other pic 180gr same distance full length frontal chest shot on a mule deer .Flattened lengthways failed to expand at 3000fps from a .308 Norma Magnum.........your result may vary....also a black bear hit with a 130 gr bullet not found just schapnel at 50 yards no pic........Harold

That's what I'm using for my .308 at present. They are good on paper so far, but I haven't put one in an animal. I went through a box of their 150grain Interlocks, too, with the same result.
 
I tried 250 grain Interlocks in my .338 RUM at about 2960 fps. Would not hold together on anything. Hit a mule deer in the head at about 110 yards and did NOT exit. One big bucket of mush. Antlers flew almost 50 yards too. Extremely accurate though, just not good for that kind of horsepower.
