New hornady

Unfortunately, successful marketing is the key to survival. The quality of the products makes an impression with a very small percentage of purchasers (McDonalds, anyone?). Add me to the sceptical list on this one (though I have nothing against Hornady as a company - they seem like the decent sort for the most part).

This is exactly correct, the melting tip "theory" comes and goes ever couple years. Every manufacturer needs some new improved with some Hollywood theatrics thrown in
for the new brood of shooters, or the bored seasoned shooters. Plastic tipped bullets never have been true match quality.

Will there be a recall on all the now flawed bullets out there?

Guaranteed they will sell though

Really doubt it, but they certainly should at least offer some sort of deal for those holding the flawed versions.....

From the sounds of it all other tipped bullets are probably flawed too due to the plastic used in the tips, why can't they be right? They certainly have the R&D expertise and capabilities to recognize and remedy this problem even if it is probably a relatively small gain in performance. It will be interesting to see how many other manufactures come out with new tips for their bullet in the near future.

It's been like this since shortly after WW2.
I remember Jack O'Connor getting fed up on all the hype about bullets and made a remark about manufacturers claiming their bullets will do everything except sing Yankee Doodle on the way to the target!
