If I look at the picture of the complete rifle, and zoom in..., The grain on the butt stock looks like it cracked and was poorly repaired.
Maybe it's my eyes and old computer screen equipment...

He is talking about your picture in post #17.
Have a real close look at it. It almost appears your butt-stock is cracked on the right hand side of the lower portion of the stock. It's probably the grain in the wood. Take a better picture and re-post it......
I happen to think your rifle is gorgeous, and I too like Browning rifles.....
Post another pic at a better angle, this should remove any doubt from on-lookers!.......

Yea that's a pic from the website but mine has the same ledges in the stock.
