New Howa Superlite Rifle

I think that as you get increasingly lighter you are giving up too much in terms of hunting usability. 7# is my lightweight.

7lbs scoped or on its own, a 7lb rifle is surely 8.5lbs to 9lbs scoped nowadays with the scopes most are using,

Anywhere in the 6.5 to 7.5lb range scoped for me is a nice lightweight rifle if your doing a lot of walking, of course depends on caliber and if it’s braked.

My 280AI is 6lbs 12oz scoped and it’s not giving up anything in terms of a hunting rifle, accurate, lightweight, handy and a dream to carry while hunting.

It really is about a personal preference when it comes to rifle weight, my older brother still packs a 10.5lb SS 300 Wby weather we’re deer hunting for a day or on a 14 day fly in Sheep hunt.
