Well first off i would do the following:
CTS
- Get rifle sighted in (the more shooting the better)
- Find a spot to hunt - make sure you know the area well (GPS, compass, Topo map)
- do some scouting
- Make a list of everything you will need for the hunt ( i make a checklist)
- find a partner (if possible)
- Make sure vehicle is ready
- Enjoy the outdoors

Nothing like cutting it close.
Heres some things to add:
- review your regs
- get permission to hunt if hunting on private land or find crown land
- Dress for the season you plan on hunting, staying dry is very important

Greetings fellow newbie hunter!
My addition...pack a small first aid kit.
Plenty of water, for cleaning and drinking.
A sharp knife that you are confortable with (don't forget you are made of meat also).
And don't forget to tell people in your family where you are going.

beer for the campfire at night and rum in case you run out of beer.
a working compass and waterproof fire is always in my pocket
That's quite a question. Lots of things to get ready.
Funny thing is that I get the same amount of gear ready( less food of course) for a one day trip as I do for a seven day trip LOL
MAke a master list and have it handy until you have your trips memorized (which will never happen)

Hunting in Ontario ISN'T that bad. I mean Ontario does seem to be the biggest province.
You drive an hour north of the city and it's all bush for the next 30 hour drive north.
BC is the best looking province but not a strong job market. Half of Alberta is flat and ugly, SK is just I dunno. BORING.

heres for starters i'm not into duck or goose hunting but i'm sure others here will help you out more
