hunting season is coming, till now I just have not prepared for hunting. because I have no idea what I am supposed to do. I need instructions and guide. who wants to help?

Well first off i would do the following:
  1. Get rifle sighted in (the more shooting the better)
  2. Find a spot to hunt - make sure you know the area well (GPS, compass, Topo map)
  3. do some scouting
  4. Make a list of everything you will need for the hunt ( i make a checklist)
  5. find a partner (if possible)
  6. Make sure vehicle is ready
  7. Enjoy the outdoors
This is not all of it just what i could think of quickly. I hope this helps!!!

And also:

1. Get mentally prepared for any encounterings in the woods
2. Get physically prepared for long hiking and climbing in dense bush with gun and gears
3. Know yourself
4. Know your games, do a bit homework

:sucks: Dang! How could I miss that part?:D GTA...sucks! I love Western Canada!:dancingbanana:

Nothing like cutting it close.

Heres some things to add:

- review your regs
- get permission to hunt if hunting on private land or find crown land
- Dress for the season you plan on hunting, staying dry is very important

Im sure there is more to add

Greetings fellow newbie hunter!
My addition...pack a small first aid kit.

Plenty of water, for cleaning and drinking.

A sharp knife that you are confortable with (don't forget you are made of meat also).

And don't forget to tell people in your family where you are going.

Things to add:
*No pi** or sh!t in the area you hunt
*Don't drink too much coffee before heading into the woods
*Don't ever think you're smarter than your games :)
.......

beer for the campfire at night and rum in case you run out of beer.

a working compass and waterproof fire is always in my pocket

That's quite a question. Lots of things to get ready.

Funny thing is that I get the same amount of gear ready( less food of course) for a one day trip as I do for a seven day trip LOL;)

MAke a master list and have it handy until you have your trips memorized (which will never happen):p

Good luck

Hunting in Ontario ISN'T that bad. I mean Ontario does seem to be the biggest province.

You drive an hour north of the city and it's all bush for the next 30 hour drive north.

BC is the best looking province but not a strong job market. Half of Alberta is flat and ugly, SK is just I dunno. BORING.

Ontario is the nest except for a few little things

I can just see him trottong in cameo and carring a rifle down main street toronto!!:D :D

All good points listed above.

I'll add, know your hunting regs. and bylaws where you are hunting and think and practice gun safety.
