Shot with a 270 Winchester Short Mag at about 100 yards. Discovered ears had tears in them. Small cougar? They hadn't healed yet. This buck was shot about a half-mile from our cabin southwest of Grande Prairie, Alberta. Great day. Saw 8 bald eagles scavenging a dead deer on the side of the highway home. A cow moose was tangled in a whitetail deer fence and her calves were standing on the other side of the highway. Called Fish and Wildlife who in turn shot the moose. We don't know how long she laid there but was probably exhausted. Oh yea and before I forget, the trip home included hitting a deer with the truck as roads are icy and the deer are on the move! Went back to check on it but it had left with the doe. Hopefully, it's okay.

Nice Buck Bro! Long tines on that rack too. The ear, might have been from a wolf, what kind of bullet did your 270 cartridge have a nosler partition?

Don't think it would be a wolf as both ears have the cuts, one ear has 3 a 1/4 to 1/2" apart.
He was using 140 gr Branes TSX in the 270 wsm.
Thanks Reb

Really nice buck :D.
The cuts on the ears are probably from fighting with another buck...sometimes they get pinched between the racks. :)
