New hunting rifle $3000 or less??

I find it kind of odd that people are recommending spending more than $3,000 for the rifle.
Is this for precision shooting at long range? Hunting up to what distance?
You can buy accurate rifles off the shelf for less than that. Might need to find the factory ammo that it likes if you don't reload.
If you reload then you should have no problem finding accuracy in most factory rifles these days.

I find it odd that he wants to spend 5000 on a rifle, but then has rust because he is too lazy to clean it.

There are lots of good rifles and decent glass for 3k all in. 3k is a lot of money, but you can blow it pretty quick too.
