I have to chuckle a bit. So many folks like to slag Tikka and Savage, yet they seem to have the best results so far - even though they are in the lower end of the price range for new firearms.

remington 28.6%
marlin 28.6 %
Ruger 17.6%
savage 16.7%
tikka 6.7%

The last post is great. A real great way to digest the data. Of reported rifles bought in the last year, nearly a third of Remingtons and Marlins had issues. Those odds are not good. I'm glad I got lucky with my 2.

Ruger and Savage are basically equal at 1/6 having problems. Twice as good as Remlingtons, but still, 1 out of every 6 rifles sold will have problems. Still not great.

Tikka's are a much safer bet. 1 out of every 15 or 16 will have issues. When you're going to put down your hard earned $, it's nice to feel more secure about your gamble. And they shoot amazingly well.

I would be very interested to see how Winchester and Browning stack up.
