New IDPA rule book effective June 2022

One change not mentioned is for moving targets at rest. The Down Zero and Down 1 are no longer available for re-engagement. This is a positive.

The last RB allowed for re-engagement even if the moving target had come to rest. It was not uncommon to have moving targets down range that were engaged early in the stage and would come to rest before the stage was ended. If available shooters could re-engage while the target was at rest. I have shot stages in the US where you would be moving downrange and pass an "at rest" mover. You could by rule re-engage the target often, for me, improving a miss or a Down 1 or 3 to a down zero. Now you have only the -3 for re-engagement.

BTW Dropped and Offset holsters are now allowed provided the top of the grip is as high or higher than the top of the shooters belt. The holster still must be fully concealed by the cover garment.

PS the RB becomes effective June 1 but clubs can start using it now.
PPS While legal I would not suggest folks move to Appendix Carry. Those holsters IMHO are an accident waiting to happen. Your #####, testicles, and femoral artery...your choice.

What about barrel length in Canada for revolvers can we still use 6"barrels

Club Matches only. I asked for that exemption when S&W and Ruger were not making 4.20" guns. About that time I petitioned HQ to increase the barrel length to 4.25" and gained the authority to allow guns up to 6" for competitions in Canada ONLY. MD's can certainly continue to allow guns of that length for club matches in Canada. Sanction Matches both here and in the US, no.

Have another question my 686 is cut for moonclips can I use them or do I have to use speedloaders because it's a 38cal

Division equipment rules are now found in the Equipment Appendices. A revolver using moon clips would be in the Enhanced Revolver division. You could still use that modified revolver in Stock Revolver division if you use speedloaders instead of moon clips.

CV32 nailed it. I have shot .357Mag loads in my Ruger GP-100 at >155PF and it really is not a lot of fun after 120 odd rounds shooting a match. There is no minor loading in ESR. The 686 and GP-100 is a lot more fun after 120 rounds using 38spl rounds >125 IMHO. If you decide to play in ESR go with a 200 gr bullet using .357 cases they feel a bit softer at >155.
