New IDPA Rulebook

Well...I have read the new rule book and didn't see anything all that bad.

I still hate the 3/4 inch rule for holsters and mag carriers because it disadvantages skinny guy. I also don't like the use of the ftdr penalty for safety violations, especially considering it's stated purpose....having said that, neither of these seem like big issues

Overall, I expect significant differences regarding so calls on cover to continue. In fact, I just witnessed this at the last sanctioned match I shot

Remember you read the proposed RB there will be changes to what was proposed based upon the member's comments. I expect some changes.

The cover calls are going to change significantly as you point out, as is, how the game is played. We shall see how the new book comes out in t's final form in a couple of weeks.

Do you know if a new book will be mailed to members? Or will one be available for purchase?

It is due to be published on the IDPA forum by July 1. The book does not come into effect until Oct/13. I would expect a printed version will be mailed to each member sometime before Oct/13. Next time I am talking to HQ I'll ask and post the answer on our website.

All this whining and gripping is why I will never shoot IDPA again!

For me it's about having more and better matches as IPSC has it's share of griping. IDPA is promoted as more of a club level match based sport (yes it's just a sport don't kid yourselves mall ninjas) instead of having many sanctioned matches. I prefer the variety of challenging sanctioned matches IPSC offers. I can shoot one within 2 hours of my house practically every weekend if I like. I plan on shooting an IDPA match in Ottawa next week but I am fully converted to the darkside of IPSC. :D

The CZ Shadow now is legal for SSP/ESP and the CZ97B gets in to SSP?ESP & CDP at the shooters option. The Tanfoglio guns weighing in under 43 oz. should all get in as well ie Stock 11 and 111 if they make weight and they should.

Bob did they change the rule for bull barrels as far as the length?
