New import?

What the ATF approves or disapproves is totally irrelevant here.
"...LIGHT MACHINE GUN CONVERTED TO FIRE SEMI AUTOMATIC ONLY..." This makes it prohibited here.

The rpd's built in the usa are not built on the factory receiver.. they are made by vector on a semi only receiver.. And if you look further on gunbroker you can see the same rpd being sold for half the price at just under 2 grand..
The US has a thingy about full auto receivers.. One a machine gun always a machine gun.. That is why soooo many 1919's are being built as semi now the right side plate is considered the receiver.. They have a modified one with thick dimensions that do not allow the use of full auto parts.. Those sell for as little as 1100 usd.. And of course you can purchase those here in Canada for around 3 grand canadian..
You should not have any problem getting one imported as it is a semi only and never has been machine gun that is fed by a belt..
As far as the mag size... well I do not know if the rpd existed inWW2 I do not think so.. but I think the law has to do more with age than actuall ww2.

One thing further.. All the places are importing all that they can in the US.. as they have a new ban, on importing barrels, receivers from machine guns.. In the US you need to have a 5 parts complience to make it made in the USA.. If you do some searching around you can see that a few companies have these. kits that were used or some were new.. Now people are making semi receivers that are approved by the atf... I am sure that in the next few months you may see the price of these come down a little and then go up as They will not longer allow the kits to build these rifles into the country any longer..
If you want one you better thingk about importing it soon..
