what is a faire price for a new in box italian beretta 92fs all black?

i found one at my local range for sale and it's always been the gun i really wanted!
The thing is I need to sell, a gun to be able to afford it, basicly i'm thinking of getting rid of my glock 17 to be able to afford it!

They want around 1000$ with the taxes included, I got a glock 17 around two months ago and it just doesn't feel right, i'm not able to shoot it correctly and the trigger is pissing me off!

So basicly I paid 715$ for the glock and they are offering to take it in exchange of the Beretta for 400$ and i would have to put the 600$ remaining
Woud you do it and take the loss on the glock?

And for the persons already owning a beretta 92, how's the trigger?

the trigger on a 92fs is very hard to pull on the first shot if the hammer isnt cocked. after that it is still a little tough to pull but doesnt bother me any, you can get a spring that goes in the handle that will make it alot lighter.

You found a brand new Italian in Montreal? Where the firetruck did you find it? I just bought one in Saskatchewan, 970$ delivered to my door near Mtl. Should receive it Thursday. It is usually 850-900+tx.
Keep both guns if you can, but if you can only afford one go with the Beretta.

yeah i am contemplenting the idea of keeping both, but the thing is i am a student, i work at almost base salary part time while studying and i am into guns wich isn't the cheapest hobby around. Plus i just got my pal and i'm into my third gun so the beretta would be a fourth one!

i would basicly have to put it on my credit card and be broke for a good while!

As for finding it in Montreal it was pure luck, i just happened to speak to someone who had a deposit on one (so basicly it was sold) but for whatever reason he decided to back down and it just got available like today so now i have this dilemma and i have until tomorrow to go and put a deposit on it or just let it go!

what pisses me off is that the prices on the glocks just went down so even if i put it myself for sale i wouldn't get much more than what they are offering me, they are so cheap now that pretty much everyone is buying them new

Then trade it toward the Beretta. That pricing sounds about right, you always loose trading in a gun to a store.

Check out Berettaforum.net to see what you can do to improve an already great gun. I put a Wolff 16lb 'D-Spring' in mine, solid metal guide rod, Hogue wrap around finger groove grips, and polished the sear & hammer working surfaces. I also installed an adjustable metal trigger for a short while but found the stock polymer trigger to be more to my liking. I've shot a couple 10 shot groups less than 2.5" @ 20yrds, and I'm no marksmen.

You should be able to find a 92FS for about $850. and if you bu out of province you only pay 5% tax and about $20-30 shipping. should be ~$950 total.

Oh and don't trade the Glock, just sell it! you'll get more than $400 for it, if it's only a couple of months old you can probably get $500 for it if not a little more! ;)

About the 92's trigger; it's quite decent as far a DA/SA guns go, get a D spring ($5) and it will be even better.

I have one and I love the thing, but it is just slightly large for my hands. I assume you have handled it already, if not check to see if it fits you properly.

I was told once that you should pick up the firearm, grip it properly, and then put your finger in the proper location for a double action pull. If the gun fits you properly the firearm should point straight forward; if it does not it will point to the right (or left if you are a lefty). Mine just slighty points to the left (lefty). After saying that, I will never get rid of mine; they are just a great handgun all around.

I also put a D spring in it and it made all the difference to the tirgger; it is easy to do also.

Well I think i'm going to leave a deposit on it and just buy it with my credit card, keep the glock for now and put in for sale myself!
If i can sell it for a decent price good if not i'll just keep it, i still like the Glock so maybe with practice i'll get used to it!

so i finally took the plunge! i'm going to kick myself eventually for being broke for the next two months but i am now on my fourth gun in a matter of 6 weeks

I agree with IM Lugger, dont trade the glock, Try and sell it yourself, you say its only 2 months old and if you've taken care of it you should be able to get a good piece of your money back privatly. So sell it and then you will be able to make a bigger payment on your credit card later.

nothing special i know, for myself it didn't really have anything to do with it being italian!

i just got my rpal around two months ago but i've been looking into guns for years now the beretta 92 is really what attracted me into firearms at first, it might not be the best gun available and it's starting to get old but it's imho one of the best looking firearms ever and theyre getting pretty rare!

it was originaly what i planned on buying when i got my rpal but i couldn't find one anywhere and i don't have any patience so i bought other stuff instead

so basicly i just happened to find one at my range brand new and its an italian model (wich is a bonus) but i would've bought it even if it was a us model

Same here, I knew I wanted a 92FS before I even knew what gun it was. These days cops might be moving to lowest bidders, but it's still a timeless and unique design IMO...

Who knows; could've been a bad batch, metalugry issue, or just a myth; a story that was repeated too many times and got overblown. All guns break at some point but it doesn't nessesary mean that there's a problem.

No mods really, but newer (FS) models have a oversized hammer pin that would prevent the slide from flying back if it ever broke (FS slides have a special grove for the pin).

I know for a fact it wasn't overblown the SEALS had them and with the continuous firing they do thats what happened .......but they do ALOT of firing
thats why they went to the SIG
