Guys.. guyssss....... guyysssss...
My new Abolt (2nd hand) has done a mischeif................... its got a Live up the Tube with the Bolt Closed and unable to Cycle backwards....
the bolt liftes from Closed to 60 degree North but will not pull back!?!?!

WHYYY

loads are those 150gr FN............

Rifle was WET completely yesterday... im wondering if wet chamber has caused suction of the case??

failing all ofthis, on the hill i Cocked and pressed the trigger 3 times, each time was a faint click as the firing pin didnt seem to strike very hard and gun did not go bang (self filmed incase of disaster)

i have given it a few taps with a Rock on the Bolt, now i am home i have a Rubber Mallet, Ready to rock and roll.

Please Help , thoughts?

Seek the assistance of a Gunsmith.
If you want to try yourself, which I do not recommend, if you're on here asking what to do, you could try the following. I'm not suggesting you do any of these.
Beat on the bolt with a mallet until it opens. Then bring it to a gunsmith.
Put it in the freezer. Beat on the bolt handle until it opens, then bring it to a gunsmith.
Spin the barrel off.

I’m not familiar with the Abolt action, but.....I fixed something very similar for a buddy on his Tikka T3. The firing pin was gummed up/rusty and after a wet weekend of hunting it seized inside the bolt sleeve.

Took some careful tapping (pointing down range) and rust breaker to free it up.

This could be an option but heres what happenes when i lift the bolt

i lift the bolt and the bolt rotates 60 degrees up and the sleeve and bolt head appears to 'move', comes back 2mm say as the bolt naturally uncocks in the up position..........

then its no movement

ive giving some light taps with the Scope off now, thank god for QD mounts...

but light was no good, an slightly harder wasnt, so im back here checking Replies!

i have no clue what it could be?

the short FN is no length issue...... cases do measure 63mm on other loaded,... i dont think the brass is toooo long but maybe the A bolt tolerance is tighter in the neck/ case length department?
what signs would i of noticed when shooting initial 10 loads???? i noticed one primer was out unlike the rest, it sat out the typical 2mm past the case base??? all rest were fine indicating low pressure 45grains 2209 150gr. min is 46.. no biggy?

Safety off, wood or rubber hammer, point up in safe direction. Hit it hard.
I have an Abolt that for whatever reason I use small base dies on. It's a 7mag and won't chamber brass from regular dies.

The symptoms on the T3 were very similar. I could lift the bolt handle but not the last bit to #### the firing pin, there was a couple mm of play back and forth but the bolt would not slide rearward. In the the T3 case though the firing pin would not fire or recock. I initially thought the safety pin that locks the bolt handle might have been the issue.

Can you move the safety? Or is it stuck too?

You wouldn't have a trigger screw up would you that the sear is blocking the bolt?

hmm? when the safety is on, the bolt is definatly locked down, safety off, bolt goes up and cocks and trigger seems to work but no bang. i might try wiggle trigger forward and cycle!

sounds like the mallet..... could be the go!

i guess i dont want it to blow up an release thru the bolt, as opposed to firing a bullet out the end... thoughts?

Maybe the bolt head pin is sheared and the lugs stay locked.or worn so bad the lugs won’t rotate all the way. Not sure if this is possible

Im starting to wonder why my Left handed A bolt cost $500 lol

now the scopes off. theres no issue giving it a good wallop with the rubber mallet , ey?

At this point I suggest taking it to a gunsmith, safety on. It's not worth the risk of something going drastically wrong. In transport you may wish to place a block of wood in front of the muzzle. You just never know.
