NEW ITEM: Dominion Arms Socom 18

Mine looks pretty decent.
Barrel a bit under indexed and front sight drifted to the left which makes sense.
Flash hider came off by hand and the Safety feels typical of other Norinco's I've had.
Op rod guide is tight and everything looks straight.
The only function issue I've noticed is the windage dial on the rear sight does not seem to be working correctly.....I will need to take it apart and see what's up but I have a Garand sight that I could replace it with.

Down to seven rifles. Does anyone here recall how many were in stock when they first arrived? I gather from other threads that a few other dealers also got hold of some rifles from Can Am to sell.

Not sure how many were there when they first came in but even on the weekend I remember seeing numbers in the mid 20's. . . also I'm the reason it went down to 7 :D (now for the wait)

I just got my replacement and it looks good, just have to test fire it. Thanks Canam for the no-hassle return.
Buy with confidence.

I purchased a rail to replace the stripper clip guide. I removed the roll pin from the stripper clip guide with a roll pin punch with no problems. But... I can't tap out the stripper clip guide from its dovetail! It's solid! Any suggestions?
I tried soaking wd-40 into the cracks but it seems to have done nothing. I'm worried I will damage the receiver if I hit the clip guard too hard.

Otherwise sweet rifle!

Get a brass punch and bigger hammer, make sure to support the receiver on something solid, and hit it. If it doesn't move, hit it harder.

I've removed 4 of these and always had good luck striking on the left side to remove right side.

What was the reason for returning your rifle?

I had FTF's from a bunch of light primer strikes. A week later I took it out to try again and the bolt dissembled itself, spat out the extractor and both springs. My theory is that the bolt was making improper contact with the receiver, slowing down the action (light strikes), then eventually coming apart as the extractor made contact. Only a theory though, as Canam replaced it without hassle. Hopefully this one functions better, as it looks great: tight op rod guide, index good, op rod almost aligned with gas cylinder :)

Glad to hear that CanAm takes care of any problems that arise, stories like that are what made me pull the trigger on it. I'll always buy from a retailer that takes care of their customers without creating hassles.

we will see about that, I retuned my rifle and have to wait to get a cheque in the mail for a refund.

I had one come out pretty easily with a hammer and drift.
The second one was quite stuck and took a LOT of force. When it finally came out, there was a lot of "grit" in there binding it up. Dunno where all the grit came from

Hopefully they put one aside upon getting your info.

Hey has anyone experienced their bolt catch releasing when they remove an empty mag?

I've seen that on a new DA 22" rifle. Looks to me like the hole in the bolt stop is not drilled the correct position and this keeps it from rotating far enough to work correctly.
