New JAE-700 stock for Rem 700

I think part of this comes down to comparing apples to oranges. Everyone is flipping cause this stock is $699 in the US and they don't want to pay any more then that. If you price out the base stock at $699, 1 - 5 round mag at $99, The lowest end adjustable cheek rest at $79(highest is $149), some flush cups $24, the bipod swivel $12, a butt pad $49, and for me I would add another spacer cause I got monkey arms $13,........all to give me a grand total of $975. And thats me going low end. So far for my 308 I have 7 AI mags, so tack that on, i would get the better fully adjustable check rest...tack that on. If you want quality crap, unfortunately in todays world your gonna pay for it whether or not its a thousand dollar McM, or a 1100 dollar AICS or the JAE700...whatever it will end up costing. Buy it, don't buy it......if you can pic one up in the states and save 200 bucks...go to town, but your not going to save 500 bucks cause your comparing prices on things that are non-existent. Its like watching a lexus comercial and seeing this fully loaded machine and then seeing the price tag at the end saying its only 39,999 , but you decide to ignor the small print that says "base models starting at......model shown starts at 54,000". You could probably buy one on Gunbroker and have them mail it to you, right? It's a stock for a hunting rifle that's nearly half a century old, it's unlikely there are export restrictions on it right?

I'm glad someone finally set the record straight on how these JAE stocks are priced out.
GUNBOY if you want the $600 stock, be prepared to not have it fit worth a ####.
What a lot of people don't realize either is that JAE, like a lot of US based companies don't do enough business in Canada to warrent paying the big bucks every year for import permits so what has to happen is a US exporter has to get involved and that's where extra costs are added. I guess you could always smuggle them in like Mr Proud as Punch GUNBOY there showing off his illegally imported stocks. That just makes me laugh.
I know of a guy that thought a supplier of 50cal reloading components had too high a prices till he went for a drive one fine day last year, bought we he needed in the states and on his way back got stopped in an eagress check at the US border. They asked him what he was bringing back then kindly asked him to come inside where they threw the cuffs on him and siezed not only what he bought but also the 2006 Z06 he was driving. Now he's not allowed into the states anymore and that little experience cost him someone around $100,000. I love hearing stories like this because cheap people get the shaft because THEY'RE TOO CHEAP.
 
Dave42, you mentioned the dollar being better now and not seeing prices fall...we seen all kinds of prices climb and we asked a lof of our suppliers while down at the shot show why this is. All of them said, everything on their end was getting more expensive so naturally they pass it on.

Dave, you also mentioned just wanting to buy from a wholesaler at reasonable prices. Do you think when stock gets thin like Federal Match Primers, for example, he'll give a #### who he sells them to? Of course not. He doesn't look for them either because he places larger orders on stuff he can find and he's a wholesaler who buys stuff he can make money on with the most amount of markup.
There's something to be said for customer loyalty when components get hard to find because chances are, that small business owner's shop that you might pay a little more at has got your back when no one else around has it. Some of you guys know what I mean.

Also too, the small business owner remembers the people that nickle and dimed him the first time and may choose not to accommodate the customer no matter what just purely out of ethics.
 
you mean to tell me that you only make $100 per stock that you bring it over, that a lies!
all retailer make money, that why they doing it, most other that make money will not afraid to said they did, and give some back to the community, like give a bit to advertisement in this forum, but cheapness is in you nature, so there back at you.

If you don't know how I brought my stuff over the border, then don't shoot the #### like you know it all, I pay tax and duties just like every one else, and it doesn't cost that much, Like I said at the beginning, even Ik is ok for the stock, but the problem it that not just myself but alots of people start to know that price went up, if only coming from the mouth of retailer like you, and you know what the problem, the problem is you think TOO small, if you have any noddle in that head of you, you could make big money already, but because you think too small, you will stay small, That is you Problem.

I don't see anywhere where Glock has tried or even straight out denied retailers aren't trying to make money. Why would they put in the time or the effort if they weren't going to make money. What I do see is you trying to tell retailers that you deserve the best stuff out there, but are unwilling to throw down for it. Next we will hear you complaining to chevy to lower the price of the corvette because the 50% markup is to much and you could easily drive down to the states and get it there for only 40% markup. IF THATS THE CASE, then go do that. Nobody is stopping you. Now calling someone cheap because they don't pay to advertise here on this site is retarted considering the source. Why would a company pay a site that the owner is banned from.....hahaha.....take your head out of you ass, clear the fecal matter out of you mouth and think about that for two seconds before you start to spew more garbage. I am all about saving money and getting the best bang for my buck, but I am also into spending that extra dollar to get quality, support and some exclusivity. I would rather support the little guy that treats me like a human being and tells me straight out when he thinks I am waisting my money, then walking up to a gun counter where your lucky if you get someone who actually knows what "AI" means. :stirthepot2:

So if the stock was $100 then you need no paperwork, otherwise you get the free form from the site and fax it in, get it back, give it to the seller and get the stock. And then have them put a trigger-lock on it, of course.

So the real cost is the wait-time. What happened to free trade?

I support little guy all the way, not when they crying about how much they not making, and it doesn't matter how good you grammer is, you head is up you ass, for not knowing that what I have said at the beginning, yes it a nice stock, and I would pay for it, but don't cry about being low profit or how difficult to get the stuff across the border, you should read it from the beginning.
