New Kel Tec Sub2k Gen 2

I was disappointed with the quality of the gen 1 and immediately sold it. This one looks a lot nicer from the limited pictures. I might be sold...

Its on my list when it goes on sale. Only crappy thing is I know its gonna have a super long awkward looking barrel since its got to be 18.5" for non res.

I doubt it.
I bet it looks just like the MK 1
A little extra velocity is no big deal......

TVPP,
While you are at KelTec, pleeeze do a piece on the RDB! Saw it today and had the rep do a take down of the whole gun for me. They've done a bunch of improvements on the gun from the last show. The US MSRP is $1600. He said we may get it in 2 years. The gun is suppose to be easier to manufacture than the RFB. And it looks way less plasticky than the RFB. The takedown is similar to the Tavor, push down a couple of capture pins and done. The only weird thing is the mag release. It works the same way as the one on the Tavor but is a lever and not very positive under pressure. The safety is also positioned too high or too forward so fumbling it is very possible. They had 2 models there, one safety was too forward and the other was too high.
You got the gear for nice pics so please take some! Mine were horrible!
If this gun makes it up, it should slot nicely between the Tavor and the T97 with FTU.

I had a Gen1 Sub2K and really liked the concept, it just didn't agree with my left handedness. I now have a NR CX-4 storm (ambi), I would sell the Storm for this in a heartbeat if it could eject left.

Yeah, there wasn't a last shot hold open on the original version either. But there is a lockback, you lock the bolt back via rotating the charging handle in the buffer tube.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'm a little surprised beause it's a great feature...wondering why but no doubt there's some technical reason. Maybe the bolt being in the stock makes it tricky

I really wonder if asking for an indexing rail so you can store with an optic was too much. There must have been some way they could pull this off.

I'd rather keep the costs and weight down. With the better front sight this thing should be great out of the box and with the included top rail you could easily mount a red dot on an angled mount and still be able to fold it.....
It does bring up the question as to whether the aftermarket indexing rail from the MK I will work with the MK II?

It think it could have been done with the polymer they have. The build quality of this model looks really good, night and day comparison.

In the vid the Rep from Kel Tec said the new polymer frame doesn't require trimming, so they can increase the production rate on these things. They are as rare down South as they are up here.
Although he did say MSRP was going to be $500usd. The Gen 1's up here go for $600 (W/ NR barrel) so I can bet we will see an increase in the price on the Gen 2.

I'd be stoked if it did not jam once or twice every clip like my current 9mm does. I also have a Beretta CX-4 IN 9 MM, which is better in every way except you can't fold it in half!
