Ya imngetting a barrel done this fall to play around with them beem shooting 7mm for so long thought i try them in f class be nice if they do a 180 to 195 in a 7mm

I have the New 6.5 144 gr-ers MAX bullets to try out in my New built 6.5 CM. F Open riifle .

It will be interesting to shoot and compare Bergers and Sierra's bullets

What is the best twist rate for this New 6.5 mm 144 grain?

At 2700 fps an 8 twist will stabilize these new high B.C. bullets and provide optimum ballistic efficiency.

I went with 7.5 Faster is MORE BETTER then slower . JMHO

Thanks for reply. If I use a barrel with 1:6.5", The "OVER TWIST" will happen for this bullet or other bullets that need the slower Twist Rate.
What is your advice for a twist rate that can cover all heavy bullets (130 gr and more) ?

130 is really a light bullet in 6.5 ! I THINK a 7.5 twist is BEST for 140 plus bullets although the barrel I replaced was a 1-8 and it shot thru to 156 grs as do my 6.5-284 s with 1-8 . The bigger 6.5 s can shoot higher FPS which also helps .
