New Lee Enfield barrels

No one is making replacements specifically for the Lee Enfields. Some makers of new barrels do offer barrel blanks with a .311 bore and 1 in 10" twist which is suitable and they can be had in various contours. They can be fitted to a No.4 action but they may or may not be the right diameter for the front sight to fit and they don't replicate the bayonet lugs.

For example, if you google Bits of Pieces you'll find a Vancouver gunsmith who offers Montana barrels for $300.

How do you know your barrel is shot out? A lot of LE barrels are dark from firing corrisve ammo, but still have lots of life.
If the rifle is a sporter, you'll likely find it uneconomical to rebarrel compared to just buying another sporter. If your rebarreling a full wood model, you can do the same - find a sporter with an intact barrel, and swap.

I was looking at a very nice rifle for sale with a 2 groove barrel. I know everyone says they are fine, but I just don't want one. I was thinking about swapping barrels, but it would most likely decrease it's value. Thanks, Jack

"...just don't want one..." That's reason enough. However, if you're thinking of a No. 4 in another cartridge, you'd be best to use another action. Any different calibre will require a custom barrel as a minimum.
"...most likely decrease it's value..." Only if the rifle is still in full military configuration.

i have a few with diff BBLs and calibers. lots of fun. i never destroyed anything with historical value ether however
i have one in 220 swift, 308, 6.5x303, and soon to be a nice new fitted RKS 303 bbl. also going to build one in 260 rem. if its what you want to do, go for it, have fun. dont let anyone tell you you cant or shouldnt. its your rifle, do what you want

No shortage of beater sporter enfields either. It is to bad they are not easier to do or maybe there would be more interesting hooters out there.
.308's seem to be the most common cal swap and there is a lot of info out there.
