That is a beauty! Good for you. I will eventually buy a 1911, please post a range vid with this. 10mm is a unique cartridge that many of us don't know much about... May I ask the price and availability on this Colt in 10mm?

Thanks man! I will have a video when I hit the range.

Factory 180gr AE was $35/50 but it seems handloading parts are very easy to come by, it's all common and 10mm brass is easy to get from Mr. Henry N at budget shooters supply.

My 9.1 gr blue dot 200gr XTPs should make a solid bang. I see guys going up to 10.5 but my book max is 9.4gr.

The Colt itself was just over $1200, see dangertree at Arms East for them not sure how often they get em in. I waited about 1 month. #### all for a piece like this!!

Welcome to the 1911 club. If I ever strayed from the .45 1911, it would definitely be the 10mm. If we could hunt with pistols, it would definitely be a Delta Elite in 10mm for me too. Congrats and have fun.

I doubt that. Too much cost.

All firearms manufactured in america are fired at least 3 times. Some states require a fired cartridge from each firearm be submitted. I recieved 3 fired cases with my XD years ago.

I know colt fires all pistols at least for accuracy and function check.

do you have any suggestions where i can get a RIA or ARMSCOR 1911 in Alberta?

Quit thread jacking and start looking at the sponsors at the top of the page lazy ass. Google is your friend. This is a 10mm thread!!!!!!

Back on topic what a gorgeous gun. Those and Bren 10's have to be the best looking of the original 10mm's. Hurry up VLOTR and make the god damn new one already!!!!!

Exactly!! Thanks bud.

OP; Colt Delta 10mm for your first 1911...you don't mess around. :)

This is very true, no messing around here anymore....

Learned a valuable lesson when I bought a Hi-Point 40 for my first gun, told myself it was good, it wasn't... over the last few years I learned if your gonna buy something buy the best you can then no reason to upgrade ever.

Cold Lake!

I personally know of someone that used to be in Cold Lake (since posted to QC) that was an IPSC shooter and regularly competed in matches all over Alberta. Contact 'Flinter' on this board and he'll get you set up to shoot IPSC.
