New list of components quietly added to buy back for retailers.

It’s a matter of principle…...
That's exactly what it is. In theory. In practice, some principles get to be pretty expensive, and not every person or every retailer can afford them.

And yes, that's exactly the intent of the ban/buyback/bait.

I will not support any business that sells parts "back" to the government as part of this program.
How about you send a couple shops paid in full orders for their old stock quad rail and KeyMod AR's for if/when this ban gets tossed?

If shops can get money from Libs for old non saleable stock I am in full support of this.
Run up the tax payer bill some more on a useless plan and see how voters respond.

Time to submit about 5,000-10,000 "Redress of Grievances" to the Minister and force him to offer individuals the same compensation as business. Then lets hear what the public thinks of the new overall cost that Junior generated.

They'll be able to stall anything regarding individuals long enough that it's not their problem anymore. Businesses are the low hanging fruit.

Seems like the move here is to do as much damage as possible to the firearms market (and gun culture) while they can.

I’d think the idea is to entice dealers to have the feds buy these things at the high price listed. Then tell the public that these dealers are gladly flipping over to them and this was clearly because these things are such danger.

Wes Winkel wanted this, he was pushing for this months ago. I haven’t heard Poly asking for this in interviews, just Wes Winkel. It’s a slimy self serving move that is bound to backfire on gun owners. F*ck Wes Winkel and the CSAAA. They certainly did their fair share to f*ck us, so why should we support them?

IMO dealers are smart to take that bag while it's available. Considering the damage done thanks to C71, C21, OIC bans, and the handgun freeze the gun stores should get every penny they can from the govt... AND I'm usually against that sort of thinking because at the end of the day that's OUR money from paying taxes.

The Liberals are ####ed. They're done. Trudeau will oversee the biggest loss since his Dad jumped ship and left Turner holding the bag. October 2025 isn't that far away.

Never say never. We've been surprised by unexpected / unthinkable election results before.

I hope you're right, but a lot can happen between now and then. I would hate to lose because we took our foot off the gas.

Has anyone had the same idea I did? Go and buy as much of it yourself before the government even can?
Better hurry. Did you look at the price lists?

It looks like retailers will generally get quite a bit more by complying with all aspects of the buyback (both for full firearms and components). I wouldn't be surprised if prices increase in the short term, or if stock is just de-listed for sale.

On top of the "buyback price", retailers get an additional $250 payment per firearm for handling. Then shipping is reimbursed on top of that. That's a pretty good chunk of cash in a fairly low margin business.

^I would imagine that is just for ''full compensation". I went through the trouble of re-registering my ARs as bare receivers after the fact in anticipation of something similar but worse. It was a PITA and they repeatedly told me they couldn't. Lots of people said it didn't matter. I am not turning #### all in regardless but I am still glad I did it.

Anyone else notice this? Sure puts a dampener on all those people that stated "Just turn in the receiver"

Assembled firearm indeed.
I like to tinker but I'm a VERY lousy gunsmith. Sometimes my projects don't always work as nice as I hoped, sometimes I lose parts and have to make replacements.
Self tappers and wood are great for customization. Either way, creating things is fun. It's art, it's expression.
Excluding upper and lower recievers of course.
