I also noticed that the charging handle does not clear the stock and started to shave plastic off when the stock is collapsed
Had that problem on my platinum as well, was ditching the stock anyway, no issues with two different Mapgul units

I really wish Lockhart would start making uppers without the side-charging slots.
Easier for them to make, and better for us to use.
It would be an easy Win/Win.
"They do. The Gen 3 upper does not have side charging. No opening on the left. Forward assist replaces the slot on the right."
Anyone else receive their Silver?
I was doing some mag testing with my existing stanag pattern mags and noticed my SureFeed, ETS, and IWI mags will not allow full insertion when 5 rounds are loaded on a closed bolt. Is this normal, or just a result of the way those mags were pinned?
So, is anyone else who ordered a "Silver" edition pissed-off that the Receiver machining is not "basic" as indicated in the pre-sale drawings? I DON"T WANT the fancy "Lightening Cuts", as I do not see them as an upgrade of any sort whatsoever. I do not like the look, period. There is simply far too much going on with the Platinum Rifle. I wanted the simplicity of a standard AR with Right-hand controls and plain, flat billet surfaces.
If the Silver is nothing more than a Platinum made of 6061 Aluminum with a flat Mag Well, then I am not impressed. Lockhart says no cancelled orders, but in this case, where the product is not as visually represented in the pre-sale advertising I'd say that there is a strong case for cancellation without penalty. I am really on the fence about this one now...
