That's odd, mine worked just fine... Operationally... In a desert.

I love the Tavor, but saying it's better than an AR is a bit much. There's good reason why the vast majority of militaries and police organizations who can procure it do so.

My experience with the platform has been somewhat different.
If only there was a chance to test this in real life on a large scale, with hundreds of thousands of rifles over a decade or more in some godawful place containing pretty much only sand.
Shame, I guess we'll never know, short of someone triggering a conflict with a country using almost exclusively the AR platform by flying a jetliner into an office building.
