I just receive my shiny new LTR .308 from WSS today. When I opened the box, I was surprised to see the X-Mark tag hanging from the trigger guard.

I thought that all "police" model 700's still had the fat serrated old school trigger.

After dry firing it a few times its not as bad as I initially thought it was. Yes it is on the heavy side but it barely has any creep or over travel, its crisp.

Do these adjust like the old three screw triggers? or will a simple unscrewing of the trigger weight screw do the job?

Happy to get one of these before the State Department completes their mission.

I didn't receive any instruction with the gun, only a "100% gunsmith adjustable for trigger pull weight" phrase on the little trigger tag. I'll give it a try see how it works out.

I know this trigger gets a bad rapp...but with my being a total Newb to precision bolt guns I don't find these triggers that bad...especially when the safety isn't utilized from the load to firing...seems ok to me. Is there a structural concern with these triggers???...

I actually like them. I found the same thing as you guys. They don't have any creep or over travel and are crisp. The only complaint was they were heavy. I've had mine adjusted at a gun shop. it took them 5 minutes to bring them down to 3 pounds. For my varmint rig I'll try to get it lower :D

They are good triggers. I like mine and I find it crisp, easy to adjust and comfortable.

all-in-all more refined than the stock 700 trigger.

I finally had a few days off work and had some time to fiddle with my gun. I removed the stock and used my RCBS trigger pull gauge, factory pull was just over 5lbs. I simply backed off the trigger weight screw two turns to give a crisp 2.95lbs. I sealed off the screw with the girlfriends bright red nail polish after doing a few safety checks.

This trigger is a joke to adjust.

the X-mark is similar but a different animal. The safety on the new trigger blocks the sear and the trigger.
