Check it out. The new Lucid M7 Micro red dot and it takes a AAA battery! MSRP on the website is only $229, that's cheaper than the HD7.

Now the only question is will we ever see it in Canada?

I talked to the fine folks at Lucid today and they said that this micro red dot's battery life should be in the 1000 hours range. Not too bad. They did not say if lithium AAA's would extend that at all. Chemist, any idea on the price point on these?

I am hoping all Lucid products should be within 10% of US MSRP. It really just depends on how the dollar is sitting the day they get paid as well as any duties etc.

well the hd7 will run min 1000hrs on one AA so im sure this new one will last longer, the auto shut off is a big part of that, lets face it how many times have you left your redot on.
will be good to see these items closer to US retail, but as they will be coming direct from HK to canada, you have anywhere from 8 to 17% duty as well as GST and brokrage and shipping, so it will be hard for ryan to do that, but it sure would be nice!
Same issues people run into with 511 gear, as 90% of its made in china, even if you buy at the volume of a large US retailer, the dealer is looking at almost 40% more cost then a dealer in the US.
Sucks but its true, anyway, if the new lucid is as good as the HD7 and ryan can do well with the price, i can see it out selling the vortex RD sights.

I like that it takes a common battery. Try to find a battery to the Sparc, had to order online. Anyway, like was stated, not everyone can afford $600-$800 for a red dot.

I agree. I really like the Vortex SPARC, but that stupid battery is the deal breaker. Bushy TRS-25's are the best deal for the money as I bought my last one a few weeks ago for $119. Their 2032 battery is easy to find too. Supposed to go 3000 hours at mid power level.
