New M&P pistol: M2.0

The serrations on the front will help with slide racking when using an Optic if and when the changes roll to the Optic compatible versions. CZ just released their new striker fired pistol ahead of Shot so maybe S&W wanted to move the conversation to their revised version of the M&P. The gun sells well in the US against a lot of publicity for the Glock 19 and that guns recent move into FBI land and their US military sales.

The Smiths I have play pretty hard in IDPA shooting so I doubt I will make a move but for folks looking at the M&P the newer version will cause a look. The Apex trigger groups make the existing M&P's pretty darn nice for what they are designed for.

i guess its not truly the dust cover but ill circle the part i mean.

so for what im asking look at the 2nd pic below, ill circle the offending part in question.

just seems strange to have 2 holes there.

(top pic is what is refereed to as 'the dust cover' on a 1911)

The little crescent cut out is for clearance for the take down lever when field stripping like the Sig 22X series. Still don't know what the two rectangular cutouts are for.

I do like the look of the M2.0 (agreed it's more like a M1.5) and I'll wait and see what folks think of the newer trigger. Might end up with one in the safe when it comes out.

Looks like a nice pistol, but I agree in hoping that it has a better trigger than the Gen I as that one was about the worst of any striker fired pistol I have tried.

Looks interesting if they can consistently build them to be at least as accurate as other polymer service pistols.

Some good commentary on the S&W forum about the new gun.

If I wanted to shoot 9mm, I'd be interested in one over a Glock or SR9.

I wonder why they got rid of the beaver tail? That was one of the things that set it apart from glock in a good way IMO

Maybe concealed carry. I ####ing despise beaver tails. Useless piece of extra plastic to randomly stab you while you carry.

Im hoping someone local will buy one and allow me to try it....I really want to understand what I'm missing...

Since they went to the 1 - 10 twist barrels accuracy took a huge jump. I put a OEM 1 - 10 twist barrel in my Pro and noticed the difference off the bench immediately. 9 MM of course.

None of the poyler pistols IMHO are target pistols but they do alright within 25 yards.
