So picked up my m305 from the post office today (I'd like to thank Al Simmon's gun shop for the speedy service) and as I type this, the gun has been separated into the major groups to clean all that preservative oil. I've been reading as much as I can on the net for the last few weeks and I've just got a few questions:
The indexing seems off, the gas assembly/barrel seems to be turned clockwise if looking at it from the front end, does this make the gun unsafe to fire at all?
Also, I assume the front sight is adjusted by backing off the set screw and just sliding it left/right?
As far as the bolt goes, I just sprayed carb cleaner down the firing pin hole to clean it out. Will that suffice? I don't have any special tools to dismantle it. I'm going to check the bolt lugs once the gun is back together again and report on what I find there.
