All,

Several years ago, I inherited some of my grandfather's belongings. Without a long a boring story, I have in my possession two Lee Enfield Long Branch No 4 barreled actions dated 1950. Both are still coated in cosmoline and one is still wrapped in the original paper. Both are stamped with a "T" on the action.

Due to some financial commitments, I am interested in selling these items but I have no idea what the collector value would be.

While I am not interested in gouging anyone, I am also not interested in giving them away.

I have had them for several years and, although I had planned to restore them but every time I seemed to get a few dollars forward, something seems to crop up and take it. So, here I am, please help me out with what you think they may be worth.

To the best of my knowledge, Canada never converted 1950 Long Branches into snipers. The last LB factory snipers were made in 1945-46, on 1945 actions, the 90L series.

So, sadly, they really can't be real T conversions. :(

Well, I don't about what is what, but the one in the wrapper is clearly stamped with one "T" and the one without the wrap is stamped with a "T" and an inverted "T" superimposed below it.

This is the barreled action:

Late 1950-51 green parkerized Canadian Arsenals production. S/N in the 94L-95L range most likely.

The T does not mean sniper.

Still, a nice find.

If those were complete, matching, original rifles, as new, worth around $550-$600 or so.

Trade-ex has new CA buttstocks.

Thanks for your pics they answered my questions, your "T" is actually a poorly struck "I" the indication of a MkI barrel with 5 left handed grooves.
