I picked up a new marlin 60 DLX today, It's got a decent checkered walnut stock with the embedded bullseye, nice blue, folding rear and hooded front sight... Looks like a solid gun. This one was made in April of this year according to the Barrel markings in Mayfield Ky.

Can anyone tell me how the new remington produced 60's are running? This one looks like it should be a shooter, and my previous model 60ss was a tack driver. Just curious as it's going to be a while before i get a chance to shoot this thing. Another interesting thing is this stock fits amazing! It's actually got a floated barrel unlike my previous 60.

Sorry, wife has my phone so no pics... yet

Got a couple pics today. I just love the feel of this little gun. Can't wait to shoot it!

Nice walnut stock with the bullseye inlay and clean checkering. And an old english red rubber buttpad, you dont see that much on new rimfires.
I also love the way the checkering on the grip flows with the grain... super nice.

Those FAT Marlin barrels... gotta love 'em! Pretty nice sights too.

Wow that one sure puts mine to shame. What a looker. Should shoot fantastic.

What model do you have? I've had many variations of this action type over the years, 795, 70pss, 60, 60ss, and now this 60dlx. I've never had one that didn't shoot really good. They all shot consistent 1/2"-3/4" groups at 50m. I hope this new one shoots as good as those, but inspecting it, i can't see any reason it shouldn't.

These things are such a steal in the gun market. Considering it was about $260 out the door for such an accurate and reliable semi auto (if it's anything like the others i've had), that's tough to beat. Lets hope it passes the reliability and accuracy tests!

I picked up this model 60S-CF a few months ago. It was manufactrued in 2007 and is also a great shooter. Of all the .22 semi's I have this is the only one that is "never fail" reliable. It has not mis-behaved once in the 500 plus rounds I have put through it. They are great .22's.

That black on stainless looks really sharp. Is the stock as textured as it looks?

Well I got to test fire the 60 and I was not disappointed. Blew thru 150 rounds as fast as I could pull the trigger without one single failure. Then fired 50 rounds aimed and turned out nice dime/nickle sized ragged holes at 25 m with the open sights. Very happy! I was using my go-to round, CCI Standard Velocity.

I think the most important thing I discovered is a renewed faith in Marlin's firearms. Ever since Remington took over I've been concerned that the marlin reputation would be sullied for good. While quality control is still an issue with any manufacturer, the engineering that's gone into marlins guns is still as sound as it was 100 years ago. I'm pretty confident that onc the new assembly plants get the wrinkles out we can expect a full recovery of the marlin reputation for reliability and accuracy.

I actually learned the other day why there is such a price difference between the 10/22 and the model 60. It's apparently due to the 60's simple but well engineered action design, which allows it to be made from mostly forged and stamped steel (cheap to manufacture in large quantities), whereas the 10/22 is mostly made from more expensive to manufacture cast alloy and milled parts.

I have a new production one with the new style of synthetic stock that they just came out with (integrated sling swivel studs and angled forend). It's super reliable and runs very well!

Took the 60 apart today... Marlin must have fired whoever was responsible for de-burring the bolt. Wow was that thing sharp. Much better now. Funny enough the other internals were immaculate and precision fit. Something to check out if you have a newer marlin. They are nice guns and deserve some minor TLC in the way of finishing on bolt.

Ya after I fired 500 raound in one afternoon I took it home to clean it up and noticed the same thing. I used some 1500 grit wet/dry paper and polished it up a bit.
