New Marlin 917V's for 199.94! Good rifle? Good deal?

Once again... sigh, it's Bass Pro.

Seem to recall people are moderately impressed by these rifles? And is this good pricing?

How available is the ammo for this?

I'm used to being able to buy .22 anywhere...

I have not run into any of that ammo in any small retailer. Most gun shops may have it but it is expensive ammo. If you intend on shooting a lot...may I suggest a .22 as bulk ammo per 500 is almost what you will pay for 150 of .17.

Gun may be a good deal but ammo costs will leave it sitting in the closet.
