Saw this article on Facebook and just some took some screen shots to share, anything with a 16.5" barrel is fantastic in my books. I love those short barrels. No need for threading but whatever...
As for the 1894sbl there's been talk of them before and nothing ever came from it so hopefully all these make it too production

I took a chance at getting an online deal on a Marlin 1895. I was very pleasantly surprised at the workmanship and QC efforts. Lucked out this time.
 


Yeah, they had the 1894CSBL catalogued back in 2011 as well. Nothing ever became of it other than the 25 that were made for gun writers and employees. There was an article in Shooting Times (I believe) back in 2011 reviewing the 1894csbl, I have the magazine around here somewhere.

It would be great if they would start producing some of their empty promises. There’s been press releases going back to 2013 about the reintroduction of the 1894c, 444, 338mx, 450M..... the list goes on.

I would suspect the price on these 1894’s will be quite high for what they are...... but I’d still probably have to grab one :)
 
Nothing goofier-looking than a stainless/laminate levergun...so how I wound up with a JM-made 1895SBL truly puzzles me. I'm still surprised that I even accepted the offer to shoot one at my club many years ago, but I was so impressed that when a JM version showed up locally (used) I didn't hesitate to pull out my wallet. It's still one of my favourite guns, not because it's traditional (because it absolutely is not), but because it is a terrifically functional hunting rifle in one of my favourite chamberings.

I'm still smarting from the loss of my last .44mag levergun during my most recent selling frenzy, so if one of these 1894SBL's shows up locally I will bite. Sadly, I don't trust Remlin quality enough yet to order one sight-unseen.

I handled the 1894SBL at a dealer show in 2011. Every few years it pops up on the model listing. It just did again for 2018, I have ordered one for myself. Would be a fantastic rifle
