TO ALL:
We negotiated a deal with Norinco, better grips and the beaver tail....
We did NOT increase the price....
I apologize and promise never to offer more for the same price ever again
John

Seems this was the original version you sold, then the "less features" model, and now back to the original model.......how much negotiating did you have to do???????
How about accurately portraying your products before people buy them......mabey that would fly better then this bull#### you are selling......
I got the same deal cocker got a couple years ago.....narrow, not wide beaver tail safety, non-finger groove wrap around grips, regular thumb safety......real classy not changing the webpic or notifying the people that bought them until after there were complaints.......:(

NP-29 from Marstar...

I'll jump in & say at $349 the NP-29 from Marstar is a heck of a deal for an entry level single stack 1911 in 9mm.

Sure, they might not be very pretty as they arrive but as most 1911 'people' know you always dress up a 1911 to your own specific liking over time. That is the one joy to the availablity of so much after-marked 'stuff' for the 1911's.

Personally, all I'd add to one to start would be a 3 hole 'long' adjustable aluminum trigger [like a Videcki], a Pachmary flat mainspring housing, a set of Pachmayr wrap-around grips with no thumb swells on the sides and no finger grooves on the front strap. And I would change out the 'extended' slide release for a stock blued one. Maybe add a set of hi-viz sites down the road. 'Course I'd pick up a few good quality extra after-market magazines, too.

But make no mistake... as offered for $349 these babies are a 'steal'... ;)

Umm... correct me if I am wrong, but aren't people HAPPY about the addition of a hi-rise BT? The grips are meaningless. 99.999% of people are going to change whatever's on there for the grips of their choice anyhow - all part of being a 1911 owner.

I don't see the cause for hostility here? It's not a GI model anyhow, so the nicer BT is an upgrade to my thinking.

"I got the same deal cocker got A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO......."

Dear Ford,

I bought a F-150 from you a couple of years ago and I am very upset I noticed this year you added some new features to my model and I think that I sould be entitled to everything the new model has, Even though I bought it A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO.............

the foreman at norinco then slides open the window into the factory and shouts out..........

..............."we ned dis np29's reddy quig for masta.......and doan wowe aboud da be-vu-taos dis time"

Well I was kinda tempted to get one when I get my restricted due to the cool GI look. I'm sure the grips smell like horsepiss like some Chinese rubber products strangely do but if they're comfy I wouldn't care so much.

I could always buy one off the exchange if someone's willing to sell... yeah... right.

Also, for a 1911 newb... what's the point of those beavertails? Added comfort? Coolness factor?

HAHAHA! Funniest damn thing I've read in a while.:D

With a standard 1911, a bit of skin can get over the tang of the grip safety, depending on your hold, and it'll get pinched. With the beavertail and Commander style hammer, this won't happen.

ffffff

The norinco specialist told me on the phone this morning(yes from the factory in DAO CHIN)

and I quote

"da be-vo-tao help stop da hant frum getting pinch in hamma an we get a deo on dem so we maik dem chipper wit da be-vo-tao, so yu git a good deo on dem"

made good sense to me
