New Match grade barrels for Lee Enfields

These discussions are interesting... they are also completely irrelevant. :) My postal address is PO Box 733, Chase BC V0E1M0 if someone has a barrel #4 mk 1 barrel to put towards this project.
 
I don't need one right now and I don't know when/if I really will, but if you get No.4 barrels made with a proper bore for .303British and not stainless, I will certainly buy one on principle.

:agree: I also know a gunsmith who would probably be interested in a couple. I'm also interested in No1 Mk111 barrels (so would he, I'm sure). Also there are enough 'sporters' out there with sewer pipes where the barrel should be that even a sporter contour would probably sell too.
 
Obtunded - if there was ever a thought of making Mk. III Ross replacement barrels, I have a full length original barrel which could be made available for study.
As far as level of manufacturing difficulty goes, it would be comparable to a M1917 barrel, only longer, at 30 1/2".
 
I would prefer a .308" barrel, just for the better bullet selection.

That being said, I would still buy a new .311 barrel, with or without bayonet lugs.
