I was searching around on the net and found this mauser m12 commerical about hunting moose in Northern Europe . The old man has a 9.3x62 and the young man has a 300 win mag. These rifles must be worth alot. I thought I would Share it with CanadianGunNutters.

I love Mauser. Too bad I can't afford a new one. But the massive number of excellent commercial M98 receivers made by FN in the 50s allow me to get close.

Saw them at SHOTSHOW 2012 very pricey, I think a base model was just under $5K! The guys in the Mauser booth were very off putting at first till I started talk guns with them, they then let me hold the Bolt Mausers on display! They are still built as well as the old 98 Mauser, wich they still make on special order. For the money anyone looking for a true mauser once in a lifetime gun, Westly Richards(order from Wolverine) builds one of the best for the same price as the Mauser Company base gun, cheers Dale Z!

Actually the price for the basic one is about 1500 Euros, so around $2000, which is comparable to a Sako.

1899 I mispoke I was talking about the 98 Mauser base price of 5K, thanks for the correction!

The M-03 is there main stay line and price is all over the price depending on model and extra's! Really nice handling rifle I held with beautiful Walnut, and points real well, nice balance, very pleasing trigger, and smooth action. A departure from the conventional but I real hit, especially over in Europe!

Yes, the M98 is significantly more money. It would be nice if Mauser ramped up the production on the M98 and have it priced similar to Cooper or the Sako Classic. The M12 seems to be based on the Sauer S101 (or vice versa) with a few minor changes - ejection port size and safety are the two obvious ones. I was interested until I saw that the Sauer S101 has what appears to be a pressed in barrel of some sort.

The Mauser M12 extreme is about CAD $2.2k. Ordered one from Al Simpsons in Hamilton, Ontario.
However, the ETA is about 5 Months!

Hm, I thought that plastic version was cheaper. But for $2.2k you could get a wooden stock M12 from Wolverine.
