I signed up awhile ago, but have mostly been browsing the forums collecting valuable information.
I grew up in BC in a hunting family (guide outfitters) and have always been around guns, but then I came to Alberta to go to school, and then got a job and am now finally settled down in a house with the wife to be. I have been living in the city and simply don't have a network of friends that hunt and shoot.
I decided to change that and organized a group for the non-restricted PAL course. I got a bunch of friends and their wives to come out to take the course through Burton Tactical. They did a great job and was a pleasure to deal with. We took the gun course in November and have been patiently awaiting our licenses in the mail!
I have a hunting rifle in waiting in the form of an inherited 30-06 from my great grandfather. It needs a good cleaning and some TLC but I am sure it will still do the trick. I am looking at getting the wife a .22, she never grew up with guns but has shot a couple with my family. I have been looking at something in the .223 calibre for myself as something fun to go out and shoot off a bunch of rounds. Any recommendations would be great!
