YYC eh!
Hello CGN!!

New member here. Im from Calgary, and have recently gotten into shooting. Ive been around guns my whole life, but never owned any. Recently I went on a trip to Illinois to see some friends and had the privilege of being taken to the range.

Got to shoot quite a few different handguns. A brand new Springfield XDm 9mm, a XD45, Berreta 92FS, Sig 9mm (dont remember the model), HK P2000.40, and an old single action .22LR revolver.

Joined up at TSE on the weekend, and have my CFSC course coming up in January. When my RPAL comes through, I will likely buy a Glock 17 but still undecided.

Until my license comes, I will be shooting the guns they offer at TSE.

Seems like an expensive hobby, but hell at least its a fun one

Cheers!

Howdy and welcome to the group.

It seems expensive at the moment because you are using range guns and ammo, which has a high mark up. Don't worry it gets cheaper as you get your own guns and buy ammo in bulk for discounted prices.

I did the same thing as you did at the Edge, you also notice that when u get your own gun they shoot alot better then the range guns (their guns are in good condition but have 50,000 rounds through them lol, well not many buy alot).

If your looking around when u get your RPAL for guns there are a couple shops around that have some good prices, make sure to check them all for the best prices. My Fav shop in the calgary area is ww w.shooterschoice.ca.

Since I am in Calgary aswell feel free to message me if you need any pointers or if u want to go blast some targets :)

Again welcome to the group

hehe, the reason I say expensive is cause of all the guns I want to buy...

Im always down to go shooting. Im going to try and go every weekend and try out every handgun they offer until I get my license.

I've already looked at a few places. Gunnar at Armco is holding a Gen3.5 Glock 17 for me, but Im not sure if Im going to get that or a Gen 4.
