A few weeks ago I went to a farm to buy some domestic ducks for the Delta Waterfowl Youth Day, for teaching purposes. The farmer killed them for me by holding them behind the wings with one hand and pulling on their head with the other hand, killing them quickly and cleanly. I was quite impressed and I thought that this might be a better method than "spinning" a cripple - because they would hang better in the game-strap and make for better pictures. This morning, my lab Ruby fetched a lively cripple for me, so I explained to my hunting buddy ("Take'em") how I was going to teach him this new method of killing cripples that I learned from a duck farmer. To quote myself: "It will make for much better pictures than twisted broken necks". Now I'm not so sure. You decide............
