New model 700s. What's the deal with this?

One of the receivers seems to be yes, with the S stamp, still has the black oxide finish. You will usually see a C or S under the bolt handle as well identifying what it is made (cast) from.

Remington 700 receivers aren't cast. They are machined from bar stock. If the serial number begins with an "S" then its stainless. Im not aware of Remington making stainless AACs

Refering to the bolt handles buddy, try reading it again.
And I suspect the Stainless AAC receiver I got was a Remcident, nothing more.
