HI guy's,

I've looked but haven't found the right answer. I've bought the above firearm and am wondering if anyone has had trouble with adding Magpul parts to it (ACS buttstock, pistol grip, angled foregrip, flip sights etc.) . Is the Chinese firearm milspec or not. There seem to be varying but not strait answers.

As well, I'd like to possibly add a Giselle trigger grouping but don't want to buy it only to find out it won't go in properly (spring issues). Has anyone added an aftermarket trigger to theirs?

And, I'd like to remove the stock front sight and simply use my Magpul flips with an Aimpoint. Do I need to go with a no profile gas block then I suppose? Which is recommended?

Will all magazines (eg. PMAG) fit comfortably in the magwell?

Thanks for the help!

There is an epic thread somewhere about removing the stock front sight from the Norc. I believe the words "dremel" and "press" featured a lot in that thread.

I think as long as you get commercial sized stocks, you won't really have any issues with stocks. I think I've heard a few times, that some parts are slightly out of spec... But usually you'll be fine... As for PMags, I have seen a bunch of Norcs with PMags loaded, don't seem to hear about too many issues.

As for removal of the FSP, well the word "Dremel" and "grinder" are definitely used plenty... If you want a low profile gas block, then you'll definitely want to keep the one that comes with, and just cut off the sight post and smooth out the edges, that'll be the best fit gas block you'll be able to find.

Every mag I've ever used has worked no problem in my Norc, and I've got P-mags, Tapco mags, Lar-15's, and some other brand of standard GI mags.

As for the buffer tube it's supposed to be commercial sized, I'll know shortly when my Magpul CTR stock (commercial size) gets here if it fits or not lol. I've also got a DD quad rail and sling attachment end plate that fit fine, though the quad rail did take some effort. Don't know about the trigger, honestly I'm curious as well, though I assume it would fit ok.

From what I hear the front sight can be quite an undertaking to remove, I would just leave it but it's up to you. I prefer it, it co-witnesses nicely with my Aimpoint and a BUIS.

I managed to dremel mine off with just some paint wear in return. Just go slow and take your time, but yah it was fun bending 3 punches before I tried this.

Yes, it does use the commercial sized buffer

As far as the LPK goes, I have run a Norc lower with most of a Stag LPK in it - the part that is not to "normal" spec is the right side (left handed) safety location hole - it is larger than a regular safety, also I have seen Norcs with very slightly larger pins- the easy answer is to use the Norc pins with the US spec components

OK, interesting. So do you think I will find installing an ambi safety switch from Brownells difficult then if the sizing is different? Will it be loose? As well, I want to add an ambi charging handle since I'm a lefty. Anyone have issues with this?

As far as the front sight is concerned, after reading this post: http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/foru...off-Wheel/page3&highlight=Norinco+front+sight , I figure grinding it off and doing some clean up rounding to make it a clean low profile might be the best option. Anyone got some good tips?

Thanks again guy's.

I installed a magpull moe front handguard.it requires quite a bit of fitting.
The lips need to be chamfered down to fit--it's just too tight otherwise.
I installed an american trigger group into the lower.it fit fine.

It is called a firearm.....

Thanks tips. Post something useful.

okay..... please don't call firearms weapons.....

they are a tool, around here they're referred to as firearms. I have over 70 firearms (50 restricted) , but no weapons.

Buy ammo and practice.

btw...love your sig line....f:P:

the buffer tube is commercial and for the front sight i used a grinder to cut it of and a dremel to smooth n round the edges. The only mag that has not fit my norc was a thermould mag, but a dremel tuned up the mag and works fine now.

Fine, I get it. In fact I preach it. As well, for years I work and have worked in professions and competitive sport shooting conducive to the proper use, breakdown, repair, and education of these "firearms" for a long time. For the sake of public education and to keep them from their total misunderstanding of these tools, yes we've moved away from using the work "weapon" and have gone to the use of "Firearm". The fact is that even the military and law enforcement agencies continue use the word "weapon" when referring to "your weapon" or "firearm" interchangeably and I assumed that while on a site for what I believed was an initiated site and not a public education forum, the use of the word was redundant and the information gathered on the question asked was the important part. My apologies.

Just because my member sign says newbie, doesn't mean I'm new at this, nor do I need to be treated as such. It was a slip of the tongue. That said, I digress and will be more careful in my terminology in the future. If we're going to pull our members out and compare sizes to prove our worth, I have had over 20 "firearms" myself and am simply curious as to the Norinco as I don't have a lot of experience with these specific ones. I'm not trying to start a fight with arm chair quarterbacks or online trollers, just defending my position and would simply like to get back to my original post and listen to those with something meaningful to say rather than plugging up the post with useless diatribe.

Respectfully.

I cut down a buddy's Norince FSB and chopped various and sundry other bits off his 10.5" this afternoon to install a NEA 9" handguard. An angle grinder and Dremel provide such good entertainment.:)

We took a few whacks at the FSB pins first, but they weren't going anywhere.
