Cool guy's. Great help. Thanks. I just plan on grinding off the frame, dremeling it down and then buying an Anodizing kit ( I think the new ones are Anodized and not painted) to create a low pro gas block rather than trying to replace it.

The FSB is steel and anodizing is for aluminum.
The one on my Armalite and my buddies Norinco were painted with flat black BBQ paint after being cut down. It matches the phosphate finish on the barrel quite well, stands up to the heat, and is cheap to do.

BTW, Does anyone know if this firearm will take an ambi saftey selector properly. I understand one of the holes is bigger than the other.
Most take a bit of fitting, iw ill be putting a "norkrized" Magpul forend up shortly as I just changed mine from black to FDE. Also recommend the Magpul trigger guard, a bit of a pain to fit, but much nicer, used the Hogue grip as I like it better than teh Magpul and the CTR stock (commerical fits easily, as do the MBUS's sights.

I've got the Magpul MIAD Grip which I'm pretty happy with as I have big mitts and it comes with 3 sized back straps and front interchangeable front straps with an integral trigger guard. I just hope the Magpul ACS stock goes on smooth. I'm curious too how the buffer tube is?
