'morning all,

Being new to this site, here's a little about myself:

• I'm a reservist with the Black Watch, and have recently come back from a tour with the Battle Group in Afghanistan (OP Athena, Roto 7).

• I'm a student a McGill university, majoring in, of all things, religious studies, focusing on Buddhism.

• I've been interested in getting an AR style rifle (something close to the C7 that I know so well and love), and despite having my restricted license, have finally decided to go with the Robinson XCR in a few weeks time. Love the idea of the Swiss Arms SG 550, but it just didn't feel as good in my hands, was more expensive, and doesn't take standard AR mags. Having tour money, I also considered the HK 416, but restricted firearms seem to be more trouble than they're worth, and I think the XCR 18.6 inch with some mods will give me everything I'm looking for.

Looking forward to getting to know all of you better...!

Thanks for coming out, and joining us..
But you are wrong..buy all 3.
The more restricted's in the firearm community the better.

welcome fellow McGillian!
i'm a mechanical engineering student there.

1. glad you made it back
2. buy all of them if you wish so
3. not much bull####, law 9 course and 3 moth waiting time.

P.S we are still trying to make the FQT to convince the goverment to reduce the time.

Bienvenue a CGN, Glad you joined the Reserves 'The Black Watch' to boot....., I'm also in the Reserves, RdeHull.;)

Good choice on the XCR from Robinson Arms.... Enjoy and come out and shoot Service Rifle Matches......

Thank you for all the warm greetings, all..!

Despite still waiting one more week to get my non-restricted/restricted license, I went and signed up at http://www.crafm.com/ . Any of you Montreal folk shoot there? Offered a pretty good army discount, something like $220 for the year instead of $350, and I found the staff to be knowledgeable and friendly.

Looking forward to some social shooting..!

crafm is a great place to shoot, and shop!

I guess the 220 is worth it, even if for the same price +30$ im member at two clubs here in lovely quebec city :ninja:

Oy,

I was with A coy, 2 platoon, with Adj. Chartrand. What platoon in C coy were you? If i'm not mistaken, my buddy was with 3-3, Chef Spiegel.

Small effing world, eh ;p I see you're from the townships--know a guy from CGG, Yves Butterworth? Good buddy of mine, room mate at 515 at Valcartier with me for almost two years.
