Hey guys-big shotgun fan here but not active in this forum...generally a walnut/blued steel type..BUT, before I latch onto the Shockwave idea....I gotta say...this gun gives me tingles in the nether-regions;

https://lawenforcement.mossberg.com/590a1-professional-series-class-iii-6-shot-50798.html

14" Estimated to land around the $1300 mark before tax, but a hefty price tag/up-charge for cerakoate....and only other visible/desirable factor being the low profile sights and rear optic cut-out. Cool features, and a lot of the appeal to me.

Never owned a gun with this coating, and the used guns I've considered with it=finish was chipped here/there...but consistent with the usage visible on the stock/no assumptions it was a sign of abuse, or flawed application of the finish..

SO, having never owned an A1....and factoring in the finish and irons/optic-option....crazy to consider it @ nearly $1,500 after tax in Ontario? Would be the most expensive A1 I've ever heard of...

I'd say if you are attracted by the cerakote then the professional series makes a lot of sense. I also wouldn't underestimate the deburring/filing of sharp edges - the standard Mossberg is not a precision manufacturing item and so its a nice feature. Worth $400-$500? Again, only if you want the cerakote!

The 590A1 Retro model came in around $1500.00 Cnd with taxes and shipping. Top tier shotguns are routinely over $1500 these days. Price out an M4 or Beretta.

A 590A1 is kinda a utility shotgun, but once they add this and that to it, it doesn't take many add ons and you're at $1.5K.
