New Mossberg 590A1 SPX barrel has rust

Are you guys sure this just isn't old dried up oil? It is indeed rust then send them back. I wouldn't accept that on a new gun.

I hope its only dried up oil, but I have no idea, so looking for opinions.

Run a Hoppe #9 soaked cloths over it. Hoppes should remove the oil if it is oil. Otherwise if it is rust then send the gun back to the dealer. If they value your business they will take care of you.

That barrel looks much nicer than mine. The light yellow comes off easy enough it's the dark rust coloured that I can't remove

My stamp does not look like yours but I don't think it's much of a concern. My guess is they re applied some parkerizing ?

all dealers will tell you o send it to grech outdoor or wrtners gun works those are the 2 places for mossberg warranty repairs

Well i was able to get most of it off with a little CLR and some hard scrubbing. the colour looks a darker brown than rust usually is so i dont know what it is. if its packing grease then its baked on there GOOD

I bought a 590A1 about a year and a half ago. Shot maybe 25 slugs and 20 buckshot through it. Have some kind of colouring in the barrel and inside the action at certain points. Not like the first picture.
