Just got out to the trap range today to try my new 930 (wood/blue, 28" barrel.) I haven't owned or fired a shotgun since I was a teenager so I wasn't sure what to expect.
The gun proved very satisfactory. It's well balanced, points easily and is simple to operate. The slide safety on the back of the receiver is particularly convenient. I fired 75 rounds through it and it worked flawlessly; no jams or other problems. With trap loads the recoil was negligible. I suppose the weight, semi-auto action and thick recoil pad also help reduce the kick. I think even my wife would feel comfortable firing this gun, and she's fairly sensitive to recoil.
Managed to turn most of the clays into clouds of dust, but enough escaped to ensure a continued long term and entertaining challenge. Anyway, I'm delighted with this thing and it seems like a very viable option for a low cost, all round shotgun.
