Introducing our all new Maple Ridge Armoury V1 Nitride Match Grade barrels. These barrels are precision CNC machined from premium, 4140 CMV steel blanks. The blanks are honed, hand lapped and fully stress relieved to provide us with the absolute best possible foundation from which to machine and assemble our line of premium barrels. Plus, we have now added a 12.5" length to our line-up.

What is the difference between the new V1 series barrels and the 5r series barrels?

Are you now using a different blank supplier? No mention of IBI in any of the descriptions.

The only difference between the V1 and 5R barrels is the rifling. The V1 uses conventional 6 Groove rifling and the 5R uses 5R rifling. Both are backed by our Accuracy Guarantee and Lifetime warranty.

We use IBI blanks for our 5R barrel production. We use USA made blanks for our V1 series barrels. In both cases, we only use premium quality blanks made using premium GBQ steel and industry best blank production practices.

Both rifling are capable of sub-MOA accuracy with match grade ammunition. Shooters have been winning medals with both types of rifling for decades.

In testing both 5R and V1 barrels seemed to like a wider range of 62gr and 75gr but the Hornady 62gr BTHP performed the best.

I have shot sub MOA groups with good quality 55gr to 75gr ammo. The heavier stuff will be more accurate over longer ranges but this has more to do with the cartridge than the barrel.
