I just made a muzzle brake for my .308 LTR. The recoil was not bad but I would like to watch the hit from my scope. The muzzle is threaded to 3/4" X 1/28" to keep the removed material to minimum.
The fit between the brake and muzzle thread is tested
Then finally side venting holes and a top venting hole were drilled on the brake
This is what happens when the gun is fired
There is no muzzle raise and the recoil is reduced by about 30-40%, there is the first 7 shots groups shot at 100 yards, 10km cross winds. measures about 1.2inch:
then moved to 200 yards, 3 shot groups are in the 1 inch range. But the best thing is that after 50 rounds my shoulder is not even feeling a thing!
